Advisory Committee

IMASMA is managed and overseen by an Advisory Committee appointed by invitation.

In brief the role and responsibilities of the Advisory Committee are:

  • To provide strategic direction and leadership to the Association, its existing and future programmes and initiatives
  • To identify and facilitate strategic partnerships and foster links with companies, brands and other non-profit bodies
  • To provide oversight of the operational activities of the Association and ensure its good governance
  • To review and agree targets for membership growth, budgets, fees & expenditure
  • To review proposed variations to Membership and other Terms and Conditions in force from time to time
  • To arbitrate and rule on disputes with Members giving due consideration to the principles of the Association
  • To provide media comment and interview where appropriate
  • To promote IMASMA and its aims and objectives, advance the IMASMA agenda and encourage IMASMA membership
  • To lobby relevant authorities and international bodies
  • To ensure the Association adheres to its stated principles in deed and spirit
  • To guide and shape the Association as it grows

Advisory Committee members are all highly experienced businesspeople, marketers and communicators from the maritime industry and all hold Fellowship of IMASMA. In line with best practice Advisory Committee members are not remunerated, donating their time and expertise to the Association unpaid.
