Aims & Objectives of IMASMA
The International Maritime Sales & Marketing Association (IMASMA) is a globally focussed membership organisation which launched in June 2011. Its objective is to
- Raise and improve the profile of sales, marketing and PR as disciplines and professions in maritime organisations
- Provide a conduit for the latest marketing, sales and PR thinking and IT innovation into maritime organisations
- Facilitate the upskilling of existing maritime sales, marketing and PR personnel.
- Facilitate the entrance of additional skilled marketing sales and PR personnel into the maritime industry
- Provide a research and statistical centre to aggregate and publish statistics, case studies, and to provide analysis on sales, marketing and PR within the maritime industry together with other relevant information.
- Be a central representative body for all those engaged in maritime media, sales, marketing and public relations and to put the views of its members to relevant authorities and international bodies.
- To encourage innovation in all areas of sales, marketing and public relations – to prevent regulation being the only driver to innovation
- Provide a forum for the exchange of non-competitive information
- Negotiate and provide benefits to its members.
- Negotiate discounts on training, publications and other relevant services and products.
- To provide a searchable online listing of members and member organisations
- Provide a content rich web portal and series of regional annual conferences together with social media outreach
- Provide regular e-newsletters
- To provide market research surveys and reports
- To forge links with other marketing, sales and public relations bodies both within and outside the maritime industry
- To provide limited free advice and assistance to maritime organisations in the areas of sales, marketing and public relations.
- To develop an annual awards programme
